Readiness requires constant training. With turnover of both medical staff and administrative leadership (not to mention rank and file employees), repeated education effectively promotes continuity, cements cultural ideals and enhances efficiency.

Our training and in-servce programs proceed from several core ideas:

• Education leads to dialog, reassessment and improvement of the idea being taught.

• Find ways when teaching physicians to respect their time. Most contributions to medical staff leadership are voluntary and not why they went to medical school.
